2023 Fall Clubs

Students in grades 4 through 8 may enroll in the Instrumental Music Program. Lessons are held during school hours once a week for one-half hour. It is the responsibility of each student to contact the teacher of his or her academic subjects for any missed work.

Full band practice is held after school once a week.

Battle of the Books is coming for 5th grade; Information will be shared with 5th grade as it becomes available

Learn chess from a Magnus Chess coach! State and national champions have come from this program, but most students are just looking to have fun!

This club focuses on lessons and play. Lessons range from learning the rules to advanced tournament strategies, depending on the children. Play time is structured to pair each student against an opponent of similar skill.

Grades: Kindergarten - 8th 

Fee: $160

Dates: 9/29, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10, 11/17 until 4:45 p.m.

Students in 1st - 4th grade  are invited to join the Primary Chorus, and students in 5th - 8th grades are invited to join the Middle School Cantor Chorus. The Cantor Chorus leads our signing during our school Masses.

Each chorus rehearses once a week.

Primary Chorus

Grades: 1st - 4th

Cantor Chorus

Grades: 5th - 8th

Fee: Free

Dates: Monday lunch/recess starting 10/2 through the year

This club is a great way to stay in shape and be an ambassador for St. Louis School.

Cross country is open to any interested students in 3rd - 8th grades. All practices are held at St. Louis School.

Students in grades 5-8 will participate in meets at nearby locations.

Elementary Cross Country

Grades: 3rd - 4th

Fee: $60

Dates: Monday afternoons starting 10/2 - 11/6 until 4:45 p.m.

Middle School Cross Country

Grades: 5th - 8th

Fee: $90

Dates: First practice on Tuesday 9/19, then Mondays from 9/25 - 10/23 until 4:45 p.m.

Meets 9/23, 9/30, 10/7, 10/28 at Trinity School.

Middle school cross country receives an adult-sized t-shirt

Students in grades 4 and 5 are invited to engage in computer-based and hands-on STEM activities through gaming, modeling, and simulation with an emphasis on logical thinking, problem-solving, and the application of coding to real-world problems.

Participants will learn and apply basic concepts of programming, cryptography, and cybersecurity while exploring the interconnections of science, math, technology, and engineering.

Students will program with Scratch and will be introduced to Python, HTML, and Java Script.

Grades: 4th - 5th

Fee: $75

Dates: Wednesday afternoons starting 10/4 - 11/15 (no meeting on November 1, All Saints Day) until 4:45 p.m.

 

Students in 1st - 3rd grades  joining this club will have the opportunity to design, create, and build using Legos. Imagination will meld with construction as students bring their creations to life.

Grades: 1st - 3rd

Primary Drama Club is offered for students in grades 3 through 5. Interested students select a play, rehearse after school, and stage a performance.

Grades: 3rd - 5th

Dates: Wednesday afternoons 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, 11/8, 11/15, 11/29, 12/6, 12/13, 1/3, 1/10, 1/17, 1/24, 1/31 until 4:45 p.m.

Rubik's Cube Club provides an opportunity for students to learn algorithms (methods) for solving the cube.

Bring your own Rubik's Cube (3x3 and magnetic preferred, easily available on Amazon.com)

Grades: 6th - 8th

Fee: $40 

Dates: Wednesday afternoons starting 10/4 - 11/15 until 4:45 p.m. (no meeting on November 1, All Saints Day)

 

This club is offered for students in grades 3 through 8. Students will have an opportunity to reach out to those in need in our community to share God’s love and compassion.

They will be making lunches, place mats, blankets, cards, etc. to meet the needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Grades: 3rd - 8th

Fee: $60

Dates: Tuesday afternoons starting 10/3 - 11/14 until 4:45 p.m.

Students in grades 6-8 learn to create factual, logical, ethical, and emotional arguments to persuade others that their point of view is correct.

The club’s purpose is to teach and train students in the fundamentals of debate and public speaking. 

Grades: 6th - 8th
