Pastoral Support
St. Louis School is a beloved mission of the St. Louis parish. The school is blessed with robust support from the St. Louis parish community. The partnership between the parish and the school has flourished since the school's founding. Fr. DeAscanis, pastor, along with Fr. Lukong, associate pastor, are a daily presence in the school community, serving and forming our students, parents, and staff.
Fr. DeAscanis is dedicated to the school’s Catholic identity efforts and helping individuals in the school community form a deeper, more personal relationship with Jesus. Our team of priests teach religion in grades 6 – 8, lead student retreats, say weekly Mass for the school, provide weekly confession, oversee monthly staff faith formation sessions, train altar servers, lead the school community in the rosary, and serve on the Catholic identity committee. They also join the middle school during outdoor education for Mass, connecting God to the glorious gift of creation. Their support of Catholic schools extends beyond St. Louis as they regularly welcome archdiocesan Catholic school employees to the campus for Mass, meetings, and social gatherings.
Fr. DeAscanis, Fr. Lukong, seminarians, and priests visiting and in residence at the rectory are also part of the school’s social life. They join the students in basketball and soccer games, attend Home School Association events, enjoy student performances, lend a hand during drop off and pick up, and stop in the cafeteria for some fun conversation.
The joyful presence of our priests help St. Louis students to connect everything in the world around them to God.
